Nimfeon - Florina (Greece)

Nimfeo (Nimfeon). In the prefecture of Florina, near the lakes Himatitida and Zazari, at 1300 meters (4,300 ft) above sea level, lies the mountain village Nimfeo (Nimfeon), formerly known as Nevaska. The route to the top of the mountain is beautiful. There are some spots along the way where you can take amazing pictures. This once typical poor farming village was transformed into a beautiful tourist village in the 1990s. In many tourist guides they say that Nimfeo is among the top 10 most beautiful villages of Europe! Nimfeo has many chalets. The village can accommodate approximately 300 guests. The environmental preservation organization Arkturos is located here. The organization is focused on protection of the brown bear and the wolf that live here in the region.
