Amindeo. Amindeo, a modern market town, it is located about 40 kilometers (29 mi) from Florina, south of Lake Petres and to the southwest of the Lake Vegoritida.
Near Amindeo are lots of archaeological excavations tourist can visit. Amindeo is also known as a wine region. Some claim that this region is one of the four best wine regions in the world, thanks to the location of the vineyards. The very well known rosé, Boutari, is produced here.
Amindeo has history significance. During the Balkan War in 1912, the battle of Sorovic took place here (Sorovic, was Amindeo’s name in the early 20th century).
Around Amindeo are some traditional villages that are worth a visit. In the southwest are the lakes Zazari and Chimatitida. A very popular village is Nimfeo at 1300 meters (4,300 ft) altitude. Nimfeo, formerly known Nevaska, is a picturesque mountain village.
